Title: Manager of Investor Relations

The Department

The Janus Henderson Investor Relations team plays a fundamental role for the Company, both internally and externally. Internally, the team is a resource for Executive Leadership, keeping the firm’s leadership apprised of external stakeholders’ views and perceptions of the Company, while having a finger on the pulse of the marketplace, including competitors, and the team serves as a trusted business partner to multiple teams across the business (e.g. Accounting, Strategy, Legal, etc.). Externally, the team is the communication liaison to the buy-side and sell-side communities, and seeks to provide concise and consistent messaging that crafts a factual representation of the Company and clearly articulates strategic priorities of the organization.

Overview of the Role

The post holder will be part of a global team of 3, reporting to the Global Head of Investor Relations and will serve as the primary, day-to-day point of contact for non-U.S. shareholders. This is a standalone role in London and is accountable for the production of all Investor Relations materials and will play a meaningful role in the day-to-day management of special initiatives for the CFO.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and collaborate with partners in the Finance, Accounting, Treasury, Operations, Legal, Public Relations, Marketing and key business divisions on the development and preparation of quarterly earnings presentations and related materials (i.e. press releases, key messages, Q&A, etc.).

  • Set-up and lead the earnings conference call and webcast.

  • Participate in meetings and phone calls with investors and sell side analysts.

  • Ensure consistency of messaging across strategic materials to the Board of Directors, Executive Leadership, Investors, Rating Agencies and other external constituents.

  • Monitor the shareholder register, as well as market trend information and assessment of stock price movement.

  • Build stock trend analyses and peer analyses for presentation to Executive Leadership and the Board of Directors.

  • Provide feedback to management regarding the investment community's perception Janus Henderson.

  • Coordinate roadshows, one-on-ones and in-house meetings with sell side analysts and investors.

  • Develop, implement, and maintain departmental policies, procedures, systems and internal work standards in an effort to improve efficiency and accuracy.

  • Stay up to date on “best practices” in the areas of investor relations and financial communications and incorporate such practices into the company’s systems, and processes, as appropriate.

  • Manage and update the investor relations portion of the company website.

  • Lead production of the firm’s Annual Report and oversee logistic for the Annual General Meeting of shareholders.

  • Ownership of the Australian shareholder base, and potential trips, on biannual basis, to Australia roadshow with CEO and/or CFO.

Technical Skills and Qualifications
  • Substantial related finance experience required (investment banking, financial consulting, corporate finance, etc.); prior investor relations, sell side or buy side experience preferred.

  • Asset management or financial services experience preferred.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including experience developing executive level presentations.

  • Comprehensive understanding of financial statements and accounting concepts.

  • Advanced computer skills including MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.

  • Familiarity with FactSet and Bloomberg is helpful.

  • Degree Educated.

  • MBA or CFA preferred.
