The Department

The EMEA Institutional Business focusses on client relationship management and new business development in the UK, Nordics, Benelux, Germany, France, and Middle East, with a team of over 30 people. The consultant relations team is focused on UK domiciled consultant firms, which also helps to support the global institutional business, and client account management is provided to all channels globally who require it.

Overview of the Role

This role works alongside one or more channels of the EMEA Institutional Business, supporting them as required, and contributing to client retention and business development. It requires internal coordination, as well as external facing responsibilities.

Depending on the individual and the channel, the role may involve owning certain relationships, to be determined in conjunction with the channel heads. This role is seen as providing a natural career progression to a full client/prospect/consultant facing role in time.

This position provides support to the Middle East and German speaking regions.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinating and providing initial review to RFP, RFI and similar documents, as well as presentations as required

  • Proactively researching opportunities, both on a market-wide and individual investor basis

  • Collating and analysing competitor information for priority products to ensure Henderson is positioned appropriately to win new business

  • Dealing with ad-hoc enquiries from prospects and consultants

  • Working alongside client Account Management to hand-over newly won clients on behalf of sales person into the client Account Management onboarding and management process

  • Coordinating the provision of meeting follow-up information

  • Ensuring monthly and quarterly reporting fulfilments are completed for respective channels (outside of that already covered by Institutional Client Reporting or other functions)

  • Providing a Super-User Salesforce training service to all members of the EMEA Institutional team and assisting with the development of Salesforce to support ongoing client management and marketing efforts

  • Helping with preparation of events, including attendance as required

  • Working with Institutional marketing to implement marketing initiatives in respective channels

  • Depending on the individual, ownership of certain client, prospect or consultant relationships as agreed with the channel head, acting as junior Client/Sales Director in that regard

  • Proactively developing new relationships, as agreed with channel head

Technical Skills and Qualifications

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent and/or holding the IMC

  • An understanding of the different asset classes in which Janus Henderson works.

  • Previous experience of using Word, Excel and PowerPoint and ideally CRM packages.

  • German language preferred
