The Global Equities SRI team has responsibility for managing Janus Henderson’s Global Sustainable Investment funds. The team has c. $1.2bn in assets under management.
Overview of the Role
The team is seeking an ESG analyst to contribute to the team’s investment process and reporting capabilities. This is a small team and over a relatively short period of time the new team member will be expected to take on significant responsibilities including working with the investment managers on the analysis and integration of ESG issues, engaging with investee companies at a senior management level, and working with the marketing and writing teams in the preparation of external client facing materials such as sustainability/impact reporting and website content.
Please note that this is not an investment analyst role. You will not be involved in looking at company financials.
Duties and Responsibilities
Researching and analysing the ESG characteristics of companies that are under consideration for inclusion in the SRI funds
Collaborating with the governance & responsible investment team on company engagement on ESG issues
Take responsibility for sustainability and impact reporting on the portfolio
Collaborating with the investment writing and marketing teams in distribution to produce regular content to support the marketing of the funds
Manage Global Equity SRI team database and define parameters of investment universe
Manage ethical/negative screening and prepare materials for quarterly Ethical Oversight Committee meetings
Qualifications and competencies required
ESG or related degree
Passionate interest in sustainability issues
Strong numerical and analytical skills
Very strong writing skills
Ability to work independently
Experience of dealing with senior people
Excellent communication, presentation and influencing skills
Strong IT skills including proficiency with Excel an advantage
