Title: Business Analyst – BAU

The Department

The IT & Change department has around 400 employees, running numerous change projects across all areas of the firm, including vendor implementations, regulatory change, in-house development, as well as overseeing change delivery from third party suppliers.

Overview of the Role

This role will be focused on the on-going delivery of client facing technologies for our global business. Responsibilities include the creation of business system requirements, troubleshooting of technology issues, and solution design participation for all technologies/systems within the Client Facing Change space. The initial focus is in support of the BAU Scrum. This includes troubleshooting, implementing small-enhancements and integrations within the client facing change technology stack. This role collaborates frequently with our business partners, management and other IT resources and/or vendors.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Works with business partners to prioritize work

  • Works with business partners to identify need/issue

  • Works with team to identify approach to resolve issues

  • Organizes and facilitates meetings where requirements are documentedusing business process descriptions, use cases, and competitive productanalysis

  • Works independently to define and document business systemrequirements

  • Collaborates with business, development and testing teams to clarify requirements.

  • Applies business analysis techniques to analyze system capabilities, workflows, and functional limitations

  • Serves as subject matter expert on the technology stack being supported

  • Ensures appropriate level of documentation is gathered for shared knowledge/collaboration

Technical Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong troubleshooting techniques, SQL, database knowledge

  • Business Analysis concepts

  • Business Requirements capturing

  • Knowledge of the Mutual Fund business and /or related financial industry experience a plus

  • Experience in various project management concepts (agile, waterfall, etc)

  • Significant experience in business and systems analysis

  • Some experience working in an agile development environment

Competencies Required

  • Experience working in a task-oriented environment

  • Knowledge in analysis of computer applications, databases, bespoke technologies, process improvement

  • Working knowledge of prevalent PC operating systems, networks, tools.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, demonstrating theability to communicate information technology concepts to non-technologypersonnel

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with all levels of management, staff, outside vendors, contractors, and consultants

  • Self-starter, quick learner, collaborative
