Overview of the Role

The primary purpose of the role is to support the global business and facilitate growth by ensuring that a risk based oversight model surrounding financial and board reports is delivered to our fund shareholders and other stakeholders. The fund range comprises mutual funds, hedge funds, ETFs and other non-registered products.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Overseeing fund filings and reporting including but not limited to N-CSR, N-CSRS, N-Q, N-SAR, N-MFP, NPX, 24f-2 and related board reporting

  • Maintain knowledge of changes to accounting practices and reporting requirements

  • Investigate and resolve issues identified in the oversight model ensuring appropriate preventative controls are implemented

  • Review the processes, procedures and controls around the operational management of the Funds and assist in developing a best practice operational model

  • Produce periodic reporting information on behalf of the team for both internal and external distribution

  • Develop and implement policies and procedures with an emphasis on risk mitigation

  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships both internally and with external vendors; serve as point of contact for Fund related inquiries, escalating where appropriate

  • Procure relationships with external service providers supporting the funds and establish quality and timeliness metrics

  • Review processes for continuous improvement and industry best practices

  • Deliver open and clear communication of information regarding issues and business events across multiple facets of the organization

Supervisory Responsibilities


Technical Skills and Qualifications

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects

  • Extensive knowledge of 40 Act and reg SX reporting requirements, fund audits and regulatory consideration

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills

  • Strong knowledge of fund accounting and reporting for mutual funds, ETFs and non-registered products

  • Solid computer skills including MS Word and Excel

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

  • Three years related mutual fund, accounting or audit experience required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent required

  • Committed team player

Ongoing competence in the role to be assessed by:

  • Annual Performance Appraisal

  • Completion of all assigned Compliance training

Working Environment/Physical Activities

  • Overtime may be required on short notice and may include evening, weekend, holiday hours

  • Typical office environment with telephone, copier, fax machine, calculator, financial systems

  • PC usage up to 95% of the time
