Overview of the Role

Responsible for supporting the development, design, measurement, evaluation and reporting of enterprise risk across all areas of the business globally.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work in partnership with senior stakeholders to create and reinforce a culture of risk management throughout the business. This includes, supporting the design, maintenance and delivery of a robust training strategy.

  • Assist with the development and maintenance of the enterprise risk strategy and framework, incorporating management practices designed to support the business. This includes, risk appetite, policy management, governance framework, risk and control self-assessments, key indicators and internal/external risk event evaluation.

  • Assist in developing, managing and maintaining quality risk management reporting for relevant corporate and fund boards.

  • Collaborate with management in setting strategic initiatives, to ensure risk management is properly considered in all material decisions.

  • Support in depth business reviews, either in a standalone capacity or as part of a Combined Assurance Approach in partnership with Internal Audit and/or Compliance.

  • Assist in the on-going development, maintenance and delivery of the Governance, Risk Management, & Compliance (GRC) system.

  • Maintain awareness of developments in enterprise risk techniques in the industry, provide input to senior management on issues relevant to Janus Henderson’s business profile and as a result, support the creation of enhanced frameworks and methodologies to enable risk management decisions.

Supervisory Responsibilities


Technical Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and relevant industry experience preferred.

  • Progress toward CFA, CPA, and/or IIA preferred.

  • Working knowledge of risk management methodologies and techniques preferred.


  • Ability to build productive relationships with employees at all levels of the business.

  • Proactive, team player focused on effectively representing enterprise risk management across the firm.

  • Effective communication, reporting and presentation skills.

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize multiple projects in a dynamic environment.

  • Demonstrate resilience in high pressure situations.

  • Self-starter with the ability to work and make decisions independently.

Ongoing competence in the role to be assessed by:

  • Annual Performance Appraisal

  • Completion of all assigned Compliance training

Working Environment/Physical Activities

  • Overtime may be required on short notice and may include evening, weekend, holiday hours.
