Overview of the Role

Quantitative Strategies Analysts works in partnership with other members of the Diversified Alternatives Strategies team to develop and test systematic quant trading strategies, primarily focused on Alternative Risk Premia. The role encourages creative use of data and new technologies as tools for market research and trading strategy development. The position lends itself to collaboratively developing best practices across the Investments organization.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop core algorithms and models for Alternative Risk Premia strategies leading directly to trading decisions

  • Work closely with the team to interpret results and develop next generation models and analytics

  • Provide high level technical and investment analytics support to the investment team

  • Evaluate and work with new data sources and analytics packages in developing alternative risk premia strategies

  • Develop and improve upon mathematical models and translate into code

  • Conduct quantitative portfolio construction analysis

  • Manage internal investment risk analytics and maintain accuracy and quality of the underlying data.

  • Develop “dashboard” for reporting risk data

Supervisory Responsibilities


Technical Skills and Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in Statistics, Mathematics, or other related quantitative discipline preferred

  • 3 years of relevant experience in the financial services industry preferred

  • Advanced knowledge of statistical theory and a strong understanding of financial instruments and markets

  • Thorough understanding of multi-asset class performance and risk, which includes knowledge of analytic calculations around derivatives instruments at the security and portfolio level

  • Experience with BarraOne preferred

  • Demonstrated ability to complete high level investment related research

  • Prior experience in a quantitative role or experience in applying advanced quantitative techniques in solving highly complexed data intensive problems

  • Strong mathematical and statistical modeling skills

  • Proficiency in coding, with experience using statistical packages (C# is required for our platform)

  • Prior experience with securities and derivative instruments

  • Ability to communicate complex financial topics with the ability to successfully articulate quantitative concepts to broad audiences unfamiliar with those topics

  • Ability to work independently, think out-of-the-box, and provide analysis and recommendations with credibility and confidence

  • Strong verbal and communication skills

Ongoing competence in the role to be assessed by:

  • Annual Performance Appraisal.
