Overview of the Role

This role supports business and IT strategies through analysis and improvement for the team that supports all global corporate applications. Daily production support, supporting small change / BAU (Business as Usual) changes and light configuration of applications, which vary from requiring basic technical skills to business savvy skills, will be required. The team runs numerous projects into multiple business areas of Janus Henderson.

It will be necessary to play the role of a business analyst to understand the business requirements and vendor management as well some project management. The role will work closely with business partners to identify and analyze practical solutions through existing or new business systems technology, third party process changes or internal process reengineering. The person in this role will not only need excellent problem-solving skills, but should also be able to see the larger picture and recommend the steps to get the business from problem to solution.

This role is responsible for the identification, development and planning of business functional requirements and testing plans for new systems, plus the implementation of system changes or enhancements in coordination with business users, management, and other IT resources.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs system production support, light configuration changes, and maintenance activities on existing corporate applications.

  • Responsible for the planning, analysis, and implementation of business systems requirements for system changes/enhancements.

  • Establishes and maintains excellent working relationships with business clients, IT support resources and vendors.

  • Managing 3rd party vendors and ensuring agreed deliveries are on-track against expected budgets

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, in particular Excel, Project, and PowerPoint.

  • Assists in the development of testing, training development/support, and launch plans as required, evaluate delivery against business needs for user acceptance and adoption.

  • Involved in all phases of a business initiatives to ensure effort is on-track and to aid in maintaining business support, involvement and acceptance.

  • Build relationships with and manage senior business stakeholders from IT & other business areas as necessary

  • Critically evaluates information gathered from multiple sources, reconciles conflicts, decomposes high-level information into details, abstracts up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguishes user requests from the underlying true needs.

  • Understands business data and how it is consumed by the business and downstream users and systems.

  • Conducts research on best practices and industry/functional trends as required.

  • Works with stakeholders to validate proposals at the initiation stage and establish their fit into the solution architecture and future roadmap.

Technical Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience is required

  • Experience in business analysis & project management

  • Experience of working in a global environment managing stakeholders across the globe

  • Strong leader equally comfortable facing off to steering, challenging senior stakeholders and directing service providers and internal teams

  • Excellent Communication to provide documents that are clear, precise and comprehensible and communicates and presents in a clear and compelling manner

  • Excellent issues management with an ability to keep clients and project team focused on delivery

  • Strong analytical skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application requirements.

  • Ability to analyze high-level requirements and translate these to overall detailed system-level design to be used for technical design, cost / benefit analysis, and solution development

  • Strong abstraction, organization and simplification skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with all levels of management, staff, outside vendors, contractors, and consultants. MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:

  • 2+ years of experience in business and systems analysis.

  • 2+ years of experience in project management.

  • Demonstrated experience and strength with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Project

  • Understanding of software development life cycle

  • Understanding of different project methodologies – Agile, Waterfall, etc.
