Overview of the Role
Participate in the timely and accurate preparation of financial analyses and financial statements, all while working in a fast paced and team driven environment. Responsibilities will include the preparation of financial statements and reports, journal entries, and reconciliations.
Duties and Responsibilities
Assists in the preparation of:
financial analyses and financial statements including supporting documentation;
income statements and balance sheets and other financial statements and reports; and
monthly account reconciliations and fluctuation explanations.
Makes recommendations relative to the accounting of reserves, assets, and expenditures.
Researches and resolves a variety of accounting items.
Makes recommendations and assists with the implementation of departmental procedures and systems.
Understands the flow of data and how to use the various computer based accounting programs.
Works with other departments to maintain information flow, and responds to inquiries regarding financial transactions.
Files and maintains records of Corporate Accounting data.Other FunctionsAssumes additional duties as assignedSupervisory Responsibilities
Technical Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent required
One or more years public accounting experience required
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
Good working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Intermediate knowledge of MS Word and Excel; SAP preferred
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Strong analytical skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work with minimum direction
Ongoing competence in the role to be assessed by:
Annual Performance Appraisal
Completion of all assigned Compliance training
Working Environment/Physical Activities
Overtime may be required on short notice and may include evening, weekend, holiday hours
PC usage up to 70-80% of the time
